Make Pokerstars.fr reconsider their rake system

Petition of poker players to Pokerstars.fr to reduce rake.

This petition purpose is also to inform poker players that there may be reasons that they are unprofitable in long run not because of their play but also because of rake system.

I'll talk about Heads-Up hyper turbo sit’n’go. Hello fellow players. Firstly I want to apologize for my English it‘s far from perfect.

Secondly I want to thank Pokerstars for their work. I think we all are thankful of having a chance to play poker at our homes via internet, thankful from Pokerstars support base quickness and kindness, thankful for fast and secure OUR money movement.
I want to discourse about raking politics in one of the biggest regional poker rooms Pokerstars.fr.

I will try to ground my opinion by numbers to make you model your own opinion. (I`ll take numbers from one of the largest internet poker databases(I won‘t use any names of players, companies or internet webs because I didn‘t ask for a permission to do so, but mainly I will use player statistics from web whose names refers to aggressive big fish and submarines).

I`m not writing under any poker community or any kind of business organization name. I don‘t seek any kind of advertisement. I`m individual person which thought and assumptions may be wrong.

Heads-Up hyper turbo sng rake (I`ll take games from 1e and 1$ to 30e and 30$ in pokerstars.com, .fr, .es)

As you see pokerstars.fr have biggest rake in hyper turbo sng’s. All rakes is 6% from game cost. Sometimes it even doubles rake of „brother“ sites in the same limit. It drops slightly from 6% in higher limits.

"ROI" is an abbreviation for "return on investment." It would mean the same thing for poker as it would for any investment. If you invest $100, for example, and you make a profit of $10, then your ROI is 10%.

Let’s talk about what is „normal” winning rate in long run in heads-up hyper turbo. It‘s only my personal opinion. It may be wrong and it may vary from yours.
1%-2% ROI - you’re better than average player in that limit
3%-4% ROI – you’re crushing the player field in that limit

Now I`ll take players from poker database who is most profitable and has a large sample sizes. Hypothetically consider what if they were playing their game in pokerstars.fr with ps.fr rake rate to make assumptions

Examples 1:
Player „x“ from 5$ to 15$ leaderboard. He‘s playing 10e (9.75+0.25) (2.5%rake) Heads-up hyper turbo in pokerstars.es. He has decent sample size of 15881 at the moment I`m looking.
Stats of player:

Count: 15881
Rake paid: 9528.6
Average profit per game: 0.21e
Average ROI: 3.1%
Profit: 4,937 euros

From game count, profit ant ROI we could do assumption that this player knows what he is doing, that he has decent ROI, are playing better than average player and most important he is winning and profitable player.

Now hypothetically give to this player a French nationality, move him to France and think that he played all these 10e HU hypers in pokerstars.fr where the game cost is 10e (9.40e+0.60) were 6% is rake.
That means he would pay 35 euro cents more per game to rake.

0.35x15881=5558.35 euros
Minus this sum from x player profit: 4937-5558.35= -621.35 euros

Because of rake difference from 2.5% to 6% one of the best (in his limit) 2013 heads-up hyper turbo grinder becomes... a losing player. Thanks god he is not French... Don‘t worry about French players, they play way better that this top world grinder. (I don‘t talk about player points which are given of paid rake. As you all now you could redeem your points to money and at this case still make money. I`m talking only about straight game profit)

If this player played HU super turbo at Pokerstars.fr with 6% rake from game price. He would pay 48,8$ more per game. 48,8$x15985=780,068
Minus this sum from his profit: 550567-780068=-229501$
O my god... he would be decent loosing player...

Player B

This player has a huge sample size. I think this is closest numbers we can get. I think this is closest to „normal“ roi of winning player.(off course do not forget he is playing highest stakes, where field is not „sweat“). Let‘s look to numbers.

If player B played at pokerstars.fr and paid 6% from game price to rake. He would pay 48.8$ more per game. That’s means 48.8$x63092=3,078,889.6$
Minus this from his sky high profit 1,107,601$-3,078,889.6$= -1,971,288,6
From one of the most profitable players to…

Now some players from „down to earth“ limits. 3.5$(3.40+0.10) (~2.86%) HU Hyper turbo sng.

Profit: 1151$

If this player played on pokerstars with 6% rake from game rake, that means from 3.5$ game he paid 21 dollar cents.
That means he would pay for his games additional 11 dollar cents rake.
0.11x10736=1180,96
Minus from his profits 1151-1180,96= -29,96$

Player D

Rake paid: 2514,5
Average profit per game: 0.08
Average ROI: 3,1
Profit: 2069

This player has decent win rate, but if he played on pokerstars.fr?
0,11$x25145=2765,95
Minus from profit line: 2069-2765,95= -696,95

WOW

One of the best online HU hyper turbo players would be losing if they played games with the same rate as on pokerstars.fr I always thought a respectful company as Pokerstars, which gave us an innovative product as poker online would give smart persons to win (Sometimes life changing money, sometimes just for weekly beer) others to have a good time.... I don‘t know why Pokerstars.fr hold such a high rake system on hyper Heads-up sng... as you see there are no way that winning players(in different circumstances) would be winning players at HU super turbo sng‘s on pokerstars.fr. Off course you can always say that mathematically it‘s is possible, but mathematically it‘s possible to be winning when rake is 49,99%. Player profile and game history shows everything and it‘s sad that pokerstars.fr didn‘t adapted rake system to today‘s game tendencies.

What I hope? That such a respected company as Pokerstars would make a stand and give an explanation about this situation. What they could do? Inform players at their site that best poker HU super turbo specialist would not make money in long run if they ran as they do in their limits at ps.com or just change rake rates...

Would petition help? I don‘t know. Pokerstars is not a governmental institution and they just could ignore it.
Just inform your Frenchman friends that there are no money in long run at hyper turbo heads-up sng‘s... “everyone is solid”.
