This petition is to keep Pedro Sanchez #48693 D.O.B 6/29/74 who was convicted on the 4th day of September, on Criminal Attempt: 2nd Degree Murder, in jail. On Monday, April 23rd, Pedro Sanchez will have a hearing to determine whether or not he will be considered for parole. In 1996, Pedro attempted to take away Leticia Barajas' life by the brutal attack on Leticia which lead to her being stabbed 50 plus times all over her body. The day of the violent incident, Leticia had to endure the most intensive physical pain from the stab wounds.
On the day of the brutal incident, Leticia died 3 different times but her will to live was stronger. Pedro has shown Leticia all forms of abuse throughout their marriage but the worst was when Pedro turned aggressive and overly angry which lead him to leave Leticia covered in blood and left to die.
Pedro is an abuser, an attacker, and has NO control over his actions. A person has the right to make bad decisions, but the actions that Pedro did to Leticia on that horrific day was in no way excusable. If Pedro is let out of his sentence, who will his next victim be?? Will he go after Leticia again? Will he find another innocent victim to abuse? Will it be a teenage girl? Pedro is violent, he reacts without thinking, he did the most terrible thing to a person that you could imagine.
He didn't stab Leticia just once, he did it again, and again, and again, 50 plus times. Where is his self control??
We, the friends, family and co-workers of Leticia Barajas are fighting to keep Pedro Sanchez locked up in jail. Pdero was sentenced to serve NOT LESS THAN 30 years and NOT MORE than 45, it has ONLY SERVED 16 years!!! It he is released from jail and deported, he is more than likely going to return from Mexico and come back to Sioux City where his family lives. If he has an anger problem, he can possibly get aggressive again, and can hurt another person.
He does not deserve to get out to enjoy life when Leticia has to constantly re-live that horrible day everyday of her life. She has to bear the pain he caused her still to this day.
Leticia has to LOOK at her scars every single day which brings her back to the day that Pedro tried to take her life. No human being should have to endure the pain and suffering that Leticia was put through, and the pain she still has to go through. We need to keep Pedro in jail where he belong, so he can constantly think about his actions that hurt Leticia. Anyone that stabs someone 50 plus times does not deserve a second chance. He tried to end her life, he should rot in jail.
These violent, aggressive, abusive men need to stay in jail so that they cannot do the same thing to someone else. Leticia is a beautiful and caring woman, PLEASE don't let her fear for her life because he gets out of jail. Keep Pedro locked behind bars so that he cannot hurt another person again. He has no self control!!!!
He DID the CRIME, he should SERVE HIS WHOLE TIME!
