Back in the mid to late 1990s, Manga Video released in Australia, the Giant Robo OVA, which was widely considered to be one of the best made for video anime films ever to be made. Yet while elsewhere in the world, while other nations like America are able to obtain the seven part series on DVD, we Australians are being short changed!
According to the nation's major anime distributor, Madman Entertainment, they have no plans to release Giant Robo onto DVD. So I am calling all anime fans who give a salt towards the viewing of very good storytelling and animation, and retrotastic fun, to help support this noble cause. Please release Giant Robo, for all us mecha fans!
We, the undersigned, call for Madman Entertainment to release the OVA, Giant Robo: The Day the Earth stood still, onto DVD, as well as release it with the special features of its foreign counterparts.
