New and complete version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for IOS

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a rhythm action game that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy and its memorable music.

The game was originally released for the 3DS and came with over 50 songs that spanned from the 13 main games, along with unlockable characters from each game, all together for a retail price of £19.99/$29.99. In addition, 52 individual 'songs' can be purchased on the online store for £0.90/$0.99 each. In total, that's £46.80/$51.48.

Theatrhythm was later ported to the IOS (Iphone) devices. However, while you get 2 songs and 13 characters for free, individual songs and characters, with new additions exclusive to the platform, are purchased separately.

There are 13 bundles with four songs from each game, and costs £1.99/$2.99 each, altogether for £25.87/$38.87. Secondly, individual songs are £0.69/$0.99 each, and there are 59 of them, in total of £38.87/$58.41. Lastly, individual characters, including characters that needed to be unlocked in the 3ds version, are priced at £1.49/$1.99 each, and there are 25 characters, which in total is £37.25/$49.75.

To buy everything altogether is a grand total of £101.99/$147.03, which is overpriced and expensive for an IOS game, and that the prices for Square-Enix games on IOS are between £2.00 to £10.00 for a full game. This has enraged a lot of fans anticipating this game, myself included.

Let's compare this to another free game with levels; Cut the Rope. There are 25 levels within two boxes each, in total for 50 levels. To buy the full game with over 300 levels is £0.69, and additional add-ons are fairly priced depending on the add-ons, such as a power-up for £1.99, which can make a slight difference to the playing experince. Comparing that to this game, which is great to pick up and play, albeit lack of an engaging mode compared to the 3DS, you could possibly get over 50 different Field or Battle Music, along with unlockable characters, for a reasonable starting price of £1.99. Instead, you can choose what you want to purchase for as much you want, but ultimately, it may not be enough to thoroughly enjoy, because you are left with a dilemma to buy more to play, and see your money fly out quickly, or leave the game and feel disappointed that there was not enough.

As a result, I have created this online petition to Square-Enix in order for them to create a new version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, but with as many songs and characters or more like the 3DS version (since the IOS version lacks a Series mode and other unlockables), for a reasonable app price.

This is a great game for those who’ve never played the series, but its potential to stand out is held back by an expensive price on its selected add-ons. If you like the game and want more for your money’s worth, sign the petition and get the message to Square-Enix!
