There are approximately 400,000 children and youth working in agriculture in the U.S. The majority of these are foreign-born and without parents, access to health care, and suffer regular food scarcity.

These children and youth lack access to a regular, stable residence to obtain an education.

These children and youth fear the loss of temporary shelter and food, and therefore do not frequently report labor abuses.

We believe these children deserve the same human and civil rights as all children in the U.S.

We believe if they are good enough to work on our farms, they are good enough to be considered more than "invisible" and more than "illegal".

We believe the wholesale dehumanization of children and youth in the U.S. is abhorrent; beneath our country's morality and an embarrassment to our nation.

By signing this petition, we demand the U.S. government acknowledge the widespread human and civil rights abuses against children and youth on our soil.

We demand an end to this situation by creating an immediate resolution to identify all immigrant child laborers and unaccompanied youth by state and federal agencies for the purpose of adjusting immigration status to make them eligible for foster care, food and medical assistance.
