Come on ONTARIANS, HST is a done deal,

Next year is a go its probably too late as I write this.
The new 13% harmonized sales tax comes into effect in Ontario on July 1, 2010 and it will likely hit many hard. “It’s a massive tax increase for the average taxpayer"

In British Columbia, the looming HST has caused public outrage. Thousands of people have attended anti-tax rallies and protested at the top of their lungs. But in Ontario, nothing. Have we been a bunch of sheep, ???.

Where is the anger? Where is the outrage? Why aren’t people screaming? I don’t think the average consumer is even aware of the tax.

So wake up, Ontario. The HST will impact many things you haven’t even thought of yet ie: you’re paying 14.7% provincial gasoline tax. On top of that, you pay 5% GST.

So, you’d think the provincial government would harmonize the GST with its already existing gas tax.

Think again. You’ll be paying an additional 8% in PST — on top of the 14.7% and on top of the 5% GST.
Don’t think of this so much as harmonization as a licence to print money.

Remember Hmm......What does that remind me of;

Ah, yes, the hidden Manufacturers Tax that begat the hated GST. Remember how the GST was supposed to be “revenue neutral”? Manufacturers would lower prices once the Manufacturers’ Tax was axed , to make room for the GST. Except it didn’t happen like that.

The price of manufactured goods remained the same, and consumers got nailed with the GST. Businesses will crow about the savings to the consumers, but rarely have they passed on this "VISIBLE SAVINGS" onto YOU.

Harmonization is going to hurt consumers at a time when they can least afford it. Were getting dinged on almost everything we use or consume, from fuel for home heating, to Internet, insurance, legal fees and more.

There will be handouts at first to entice us all or at least make us more compliant, so we don't "Rock the boat in Ontario or before an election"

Is there a solution maybe, by dropping the PST at least two points — or three to make it easy to calculate. Harmonize at 10% Make it easier on all US taxpayers....

Organize some anti-HST rallies like the ones they’ve been having in B.C. the GST and PST next July, you’ll be paying three taxes every time you fill up your car with gas.

I wonder how many Ontarians cross border shop just to save on taxes ? (TAX REFUGEES status feels great!)

Ok, the ball is in your court,
WE CAN DO BETTER IN ONTARIO ! My first petition.

Collar your MPP, (not physically)
Complain to the premier, email, write, or bring it up at the next local, Provincial, Federal community meetings...

Let THEM all feel YOU WORKED HARD FOR YOUR MONEY - AND YOU KNOW THEY WILL BE COLLECTING IT ANYWAYS IN ORDER TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS, BUT FRUGALLY, HOPEFULLY SPENDING IT CAREFULLY, WHILE BEING FAIR TO EVERONE IN THE PROVINCE.

Don't forget they brought in taxation during the First World War, and they said it was a "Temporary Measure".

Maybe, harmonizing 10% Make it easier on all US taxpayers...

MORE TAXES DOES'ENT ALWAYS TRANSLATE INTO MORE GOVERNMENT REVENUE...THERE IS PLENTY OF PROOF IN NORTH AMERICA.

"IF ONTARIO IS THE ENGINE FOR THE CANADIAN ECONOMY - LET'S DO IT RIGHT, THE SUMMER OF 2010 IS AROUND THE CORNER".
