Tax Exemptions for South Africans During Load Shedding.

Due to the lack of Infrastructure Maintenance resulting in  poorly maintained Power Stations and increasing cost of coal without proportional increase in price related revenue, Eskom, the South African Power Utility, has opted to "Load Shedding". When there is not enough electricity available to meet the demand from all Eskom customers, it could be necessary to interrupt supply to certain areas; this is what is referred to as Load Shedding.

Because of the huge and negative impact Load Shedding has on the South African economy, we at Consumerlive Corporation (Pty) Ltd. have undertaken an online petition, to challenge the South African government to compensate South Africans, for their short-comings, in the form of a Tax Exemption for all Eskom customers within affected areas.

Even though this notion will not put the lights back on, it effectively would be a gesture of goodwill from Eskom to compensate ordinary, hard-working and law abiding citizens.

If you are a South African and have been negatively effected by Eskom's Load Shedding policy in any way or form, please support and sign this petition and make your voice count!
