Most people consider dogs to be a member of their family. They pay all the costs for the care and comfort of their four legged “children.”
There is a tax deduction for human children since they are dependent on their parents. The average tax savings for a child is over $1,286 per year!
Dogs are also 100% dependent on their owners. We pay all the costs to care for our dog just like a child. People that do not have children do not get any benefit from the tax deduction for children. We should get a tax deduction for the cost of caring for mans’ best friend!
We the undersigned feel the US TAX CODE should be amended to allow a deduction for the care and comfort of man’s best friend.
We provide 100 percent of the support for our dogs and treat them like members of our family. There is a tax deduction for human children; we feel there should be a tax deduction for our canine "children."
We want to change this law that is so unfair to our canine friends!
