Thanks to everyone who signed and supported this campaign, with the online and paper petitions we achieved 5000 signatures. These will be taken to parliament on the 25th February 2014.

TAMWORTH has been recording alarming increases in its crime rate with the number of break-and-enter offences, motor vehicle theft and the biggest statistical increase being robbery with a weapon.
A large number of community members are feeling fear from this crime, fear in own homes, workplace and environment.
It is time to take back our power!
Community safety is something everyone can get involved in. As an individual we can feel helpless in fixing the problem of crime, but as a community we can do something and that is taking a stand by formulating prevention plans.
This petition is our community prevention plan to get a drug unit and drug dog in Tamworth in the aim to make crime harder to commit and in turn being one step closer to taking back our community morale. It will be a step closer to bring back all of our rights and freedom to live safely and securely.
To the honourable the speaker and members of the legislative assembly of New South Wales, the petition of citizens of New South Wales, bring to the attention of the house the serious impact that drug related crime has on the communities in the Tamworth electorate.
The undersigned petitioners therefore ask that the legislative assembly allocate a drug unit and drug dog unit to the Oxley Local Area Command, based in Tamworth, New South Wales.
