If built, the Tacoma plant would be the largest methanol production facility anywhere in the world.
NWI’s proposal of three facilities in Washington and Oregon stands to more than triple the U.S. methanol industry, decisively shifting the focus of domestic methanol production from Texas and the Gulf to the Pacific Northwest.
The plant would use 7,200 gallons of water per minute, or 3.8 billion gallons per year. For reference, Tacoma’s total residential water use is around 5.9 billion gallons per year.

We have struggled in Tacoma to keep our city livable for many years and with this proposal They are further causing our city and water ways damage.
This Material will wash into the already polluted Puget Sound and Would run down to all of our neighboring cities and towns including harming the land and animals that are the lively hood of our surrounding Tribes.
By signing this petition you are not only agreeing that this plant has no place in Tacoma but shouldn't have a place anywhere because of the amount of harmful consumption and damage it will do to our beautiful home.
We fully support the halt of this project and if anything would like the project pushed back so we can further learn the scope and effects of this Plant.
