Supporters of Carter Paysinger

We, the residential and community members of Beverly Hills object to the treatment of Carter Paysinger by the Beverly Hills School Board. Carter has made a significant impact on our students, faculty and parents of Beverly Hills High School. He has been instrumental in creating a first class academic environment and facilitating students moving onto college. For example, many more student athletes received financial scholarships as a result of Carter Paysinger’s advocacy.

Carter Paysinger is also one of the few persons on the faculty at Beverly Hills High School who are in touch with the history and cultural makeup of the school because of his participation in the Integration Program that started in the late 1960s. Carter found himself lucky enough to participate in this program, but at a great sacrifice to him and his family. He travelled one and one-half hours each ways, everyday so that he could achieve the opportunity for a better education. To this day he is grateful for that opportunity.

Carter Paysinger has a track record of being a leader and bringing people together, a talent greatly needed in the field of education. That track record began as a Student, Coach, Teacher, Athletic Director, Vice Principal and the ultimate achievement of becoming the Principal of Beverly Hills High School.

This is why we should be so concerned that Carter Paysinger is being wrongly targeted and mistreated. This behavior by the Beverly Hills School Board Members is not consistent with Beverly Hills High School’s commitment to harmony in such a diverse community and school district.

This unacceptable behavior by the Beverly Hills School Board Members is particularly upsetting because it forced him to take legal action to protect himself and his family. How much does one have to endure before you say enough is enough?
