Background (Preamble):
Title IX is a federal law that provides for equal opportunity in athletics for both boys and girls. In order to be in compliance, any educational institution receiving federal funds must offer girls the same opportunity in athletics as boys. Wyoming high schools are currently calling wrestling a “girls” sport, even though very few girls participate.
It is our opinion that Wyoming high school athletics is not in compliance with Title IX and needs to offer another sport for girls to participate in. One such sport could be softball. Please sign below if you would like to add Girls Softball to Wyoming’s High Schools.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Wyoming High School Activities Association and all 3A and 4A Wyoming High Schools to add Girls Fastpitch softball as a Wyoming Sanctioned Sport.
