Background (Preamble):
ONE INTERNET
Lawrence@simplySUPREME.NET
Secretary-General
United Nations
President
United States of America
Dear Sirs,
ONE INTERNET
My objective is a world where high speed Internet access is accessible in the same way that air is accessible, without restriction by anyone, anywhere. When restricted, it is deemed a criminal offence, punishable by law.
I am NOT advocating FREE Internet access.
I propose that the governments of all nations collect a sum, through TAXES, collected in their respective countries, and PAYABLE to the United Nations (UN), to administer, to make it possible for Internet access to be beamed to all corners of planet earth.
The benefits to society are infinite!
I am writing to the United Nations because, if you accept your role in the ONE INTERNET Project, as outlined above, then we are one step closer to making ONE INTERNET a reality. The President of the USA is copied in as he is the Leader of the Free World!
FUNDING: To kick start the project, I propose that ALL nations suspend weapons development for ONE YEAR, and divert those budgeted funds to the ONE INTERNET Project Fund. One side benefit of diverting such funds would be the psychological stimulus for world leaders to discuss peaceful means of resolving disagreements for at least a year.
The expectation is return dialogue from the Secretariat of the UN on this correspondence. ONE INTERNET has the potential to connect people across the globe in real time, aiding global economic development, conflict resolution, enhancing and improving literacy and bridge the digital divide on a scale probably never anticipated before.
The future survival of mankind may just depend on it!
ONE INTERNET would ignite the global market for laptops and wireless equipment to a tremendous degree.
It would mean an adventurer in distress can send an email from anywhere at any time. It would mean the end of civil wars in many societies where the lack of access to information is a major cause of the success of such wars. Good news can be shared globally in an instant!
How can the UN help me make ONE INTERNET happen? We look forward to hearing from you.
With sincere regards
