You may or may not be aware of the ongoing saga of violations and citations aimed at shutting down my 'permaculture-based instruction operation' here in Pinellas county--if not, the whole thing is detailed in the "We Grow From Here" group.
Although I have attempted to comply with their requests, I've still been cited and fined, and the court date to appear to plead my case is August 8th at 8:30AM at the Pinellas County Circuit Court, 14250 49th St., third floor, room 15.
I am asking for anyone who supports and stands for permaculture ethics and principles to come stand by me as I attempt to shed some light into this County's dark ages mentality. Please, help me show what permaculture is really about!
Even if you cannot be there in person, please sign and distribute this petition, as well as any kind of media coverage which will expose and educate our community about what "Care for Earth, Care for People, and Return of Surplus" means!
Once I have my 'day in court', I will be focused on obtaining a State-level recognition of the education we receive in a Permaculture Design Course (PDC), and how that can benefit our communities. If our expertise were recognized, we could potentially have some sort of permitting available for installations, preventing county or city zoning departments from harassment.

We, the undersigned, support the continuance of established permaculture installations (ie. the residence known as 'Casa Seranita' and the primary residence of Loretta Buckner, founder of 'We Grow From Here: Community Garden Project"), with no further violations or citations. We are in support of dismissing the three citations requiring court appearance, on the grounds of inaccurate and in-concise reporting and communication, as well as unfair 'targeting' of properties which have landscaping which is covered under the Florida Friendly Landscaping ordinances, Statute #373.185.
The undersigned hereby petition the court to revise current codes to allow for permaculture as a recognized professional certification, and allow certified practitioners special allowances under the current codes of City, County, and State.
