Lidl wish to develop part of the Duckworth Trading Estate located on Stallings Lane in Kingswinford. We shall shortly be submitting an application for a discount foodstore with a 1063 sq m sales area and 70+ car parking spaces.
The site is consists of a variety of uses from a furniture store to window manufacturers. However there are several vacant units which have been derelict for many years and due to this the site has become increasingly unsightly. Our proposal will regenerate the site by creating a contemporary and modern store, selling 95% own brand products and generating an average annual turnover comparable to a Tesco Express. The rear of the site will continue to be occupied by a Car Valeters, Vehicle Body Spray Shop and Vehicle Repair Garage. There will also be additional units provided to the rear which could potentially to provide relocations for the units that are to be demolished to facilitate the Lidl Development.
The store will be located in close proximity to the town centre and Wall Heath District Centre. Lidl's limited product lines and low turnover will not impact upon the vitality of these centres.
The development would bring more shopping choice to the local community and create up to 40 new jobs.
We, the undersigned, fully support Lidl's application for the development of a neighbourhood foodstore, on the Duckworth Trading Estate, Stalling Lane, Kingswinford.
