In 2007, Ashleigh (Farrell) Morris was the victim of a heinous domestic violence attack in which her boyfriend, Conrad Pedersen hit her three times, in the head and back with an axe. Ashleigh was pregnant at the time of the attack.

Pedersen was released from prison in November 2012. In August 2013, Pedersen violated the Order of Protection issued to protect Morris and their child. The Order is a "stay-away" order, yet Pedersen got in line behind Morris and her husband at the grocery store, followed them to their car, watched as they loaded their groceries and then followed them in his car.

Following his arrest, members of the Cambridge U.P. Church and relatives of his fiancee started a letter writing campaign and petition, demanding that the D.A. stop prosecuting Pedersen. This petition is also critical of the victim and her actions.

The petition has been brought to the homes of numerous residents, seeking their support, using both lies and half-truths in order to gain their support. The letters sent to the D.A. threaten to vote for his competitor in the upcoming election if he does not bow to their demands.

We, the undersigned, call on the Cambridge U.P. Church to explain their actions in supporting this convicted domestic violence perpetrator against his victim. We demand that they stop portraying this man as a victim and publicly apologize to Morris as well as right the lies they have told.

We, the undersigned, fully support the continued prosecution of Conrad W. Pedersen, and ask that the Washington County District Attorney's office seek the harshest sentence possible for this crime.
