We the undersigned students, parents of Fall Mountain Regional High School have come together before you in support of the FMRHS dress code and to request that the administration of FMRHS take all the necessary action to enforce four of the the following rules already established in the FMRHS handbook that in many cases, are not being adhered to:
1. Skirts and shorts must be of appropriate length.
2. Tops must meet bottoms. No halters, half shirts, spaghetti strap shirts, tube top shirts or muscle shirts are permitted.
8. Revealing clothing is prohibited.
9. Grooming and dress must not be so unusual or bizarre as to constitute a distraction or to interfere with the educational opportunity of the other students.
We, the undersigned believe that the rules are not being enforced enough. We don’t believe that students (girls particularly) should wear skirt, shorts or shirts that are as revealing as many currently do. Furthermore, we believe that students wearing this type of clothing and not adhering to the dress code are a distraction in the learning environment.
By signing and submitting this petition, no disrespect to the Fall Mountain Regional High School administration is meant. We only wish that the administration will consider our request and be more diligent in enforcing the dress code.
