The reason for this letter is in regards of the Student Code of Conduct for WyoTech Blairsville Campus. The first listed on the Student Code of Conduct is “No one may be excluded on the basis of disability, race, ethnicity, national origin, creed, gender, age, Sexual Orientation, economic status or other protected status.” In the matter of Peter Landrio vs. Dalton Talley this was violated by Dalton Talley calling Peter Landrio a faggot. That is a clear violation of the Sexual Orientation Code of Conduct.
The second reason for this letter is to inform others of Conduct Affecting Student Learning. Dalton Talley and friend Jamal Williams have been seen by both students and staff for cheating during tests. Nothing has been done, even though there is a rule stating that “Disciplinary action, including suspension/dismissal, may be initiated against any student based upon reasonable suspicion of involvement to commit any of the following:
1. Cheating, plagiarism, fabrication or other forms of academic dishonesty etc.
I am a Veteran from the Army and I am disgraced by the lack of authority at WyoTech Blairsville Campus. The instructors have been backed into a corner and are no longer allowed to discipline their students. As I uphold my honor, integrity and do what is right, others are allowed to do whatever they please with no consequence.
The nine months that I have been here, have been an unpleasant experience. There needs to be a change to the education staff for the sake of WyoTech Blairsville success! By that I mean someone that will uphold the student body to the high standards WyoTech was created on. This is not a threat rather a promise. I plan on giving Department of Education as well as Department of Veteran Affairs a call, as well as a copy of this letter and ask that WyoTech Blairsville be investigated further. We, the undersigned, demand that Zenith Education Board of Directors along with WyoTech Board of Director rewrite the way the instructor and faculty staff discipline the student body.
We are tired of see the Instructors and/or Staff playing favoritism with other students. When you hold one student to certain standards, that means you will hold the entire student body to that same standard.
