Petition Background (Preamble):
The Tipaimukh Dam is creating a lot of negative impact to Bangladesh and even in India.
It will destroy the biodiversity of this region.
Tipaimukh Dam is a proposed embankment dam on the river Barak in Manipur state India. The purpose of the dam is flood control and hydroelectric power generation.
The project has led to controversy between India and Bangladesh over water rights as well as controversy with Manipuri people to be relocated by the reservoir.
