Speeding outside of Sandyhill Elemetary is ongoing on a daily basis, its not just the teenagers its also parents running late.
My children and all the other kids should be able to walk across the street to school safely. There are posted signs that it is a 30 zone but nobody seems to notice or care.
What is it going to take before people slow down in front of the schools, I sure don't want one of my kids or any other kids seriously hurt or worse because people can't obey the speed limit.
I am asking all parents and staff members as well as the people living in the neighbourhood to sign this petition so I can present it to the city of Abbotsford.
I am hoping to get speed bumps, round about or a more visual cross walk sign so that people are clear that there are kids walking and crossing weekdays aswell as weekends. I myself have almost been hit walking my kids across the street many of times. There is a high school down the road and the kids from there are constantly speeding up Sandyhill and blowing right thru the school zone without any regard for anyone's safety.
I have had enough and I am trying my best to get something done before someone is seriously injured. If you feel as strongly as I do about keeping our kids safe while going and leaving school please sign my petition.
