Unionville has been granted $10,000,000 to relocate New Britain Avenue, several businesses and homes in an effort to relieve traffic congestion in the Center of Unionville.
As this vote of 4-3 was approved, it guarantees no relief of congestion nor does it necessarily assure the business owners who will be relocated, with assistance from this grant, a fiscally positive move.
We, the undersigned, disapprove and disagree with the Unionville Center plan of relocating New Britain Avenue, relocating businesses and ultimately uprooting families and a neighborhood.
The slight inconvenience of an extra 6-8 minutes a day during school and work travel time does not add up to a complete overhaul of the center of South Unionville at the cost of $10,000,000 to our government.
