On April 17th 2014 An Illinois House committee has advanced a plan to devote $100 million in state funds to help bring President Barack Obama's presidential museum and library to Chicago.
The committee voted unanimously following a hearing in Chicago.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel was among several officials who spoke in favor of the funding. He says the money would return dividends "well beyond" $100 million. Emanuel also says the funding would be a fitting way to welcome Obama back to his hometown.

A spokesman for House Speaker Michael Madigan says the Legislature still must determine a source for the funding

Let's Stop this Now before spending gets more out of hand! Get the money back to state programs where it could better be if it the people of this state, back to education to raise common sense leaders and open up better programs or closed programs for a well rounded education.

We the People of the State of Illinois do hear by call on our state leaders, including Governor Pat Quinn, Lt. Gov Shiela Simon, State Representatives and State Senators to refrain from spending $100 Million dollars in support of this Obama Museum and Library and allocate that money to State programs beneficial to the people such as education.
