We, the undersigned, petition against the noise pollution that occurs when functions/sport occasions is held by groups that is not related to the Eros Primary School.
The sport field is situated in a residential area, adjacent to a block of flats and opposite residential houses.
The noise pollution is extreme when an amplifier at top volume and microphone is used during these occasions. Adult club music is played during these occasions at top volume. These gatherings sometimes start on a weekday and continue for 4 days at a time from 08:30 in the morning to 07:30 at night, including Sundays.
The loudness of the music and announcements using an amplifier and microphone at top volume is unbearable. The sound carries for kilometres away and some houses are merely a few metres away from the field.
the residents cannot live in their houses or use any of their outdoor spaces for their own use during these occasions which are held quite frequently.
Also I think this must have an effeft on the pupils of the school when these functions is hosted during school times.
We, the undersigned, call on the Ministry of Education and the Headmaster of the Eros Primary School to stop the functions/gatherings held on the school's sport field and to prohibit the use of microphones and amplifiers at all times.
We also urge the Headmaster of this Primary School to use the sport field for its primary purpose only.
