Around 1 in 7 people suffer from the, sometimes, devastating effects of hearing loss. It can affect anyone at any age. It can affect their confidence, self-esteem, their personal, social and working life. Hearing loss causes isolation and loneliness. Depression can then set in, creating more pressure on the already understaffed and underfunded NHS.
Please tell all your family, friends and work colleagues about this petition. The more people who sign up, the more chance we have of making any changes.
One of the most annoying and painful experiences by hearing aid users is music being played in Supermarkets, G.P surgeries etc. In fact, almost all service providers play some kind of music whilst people are either shopping or waiting for appointments. Hearing aids not only help to amplify speech sounds, they also amplify other sounds, making it virtually impossible to understand what is being said in background noise.
We, the undersigned, call on all service providers, to either, turn the music down or turn it off completely. Consider alternatives instead. Think about the increased custom if all hard of hearing people were able to use your services.
Remember, more customers means more profits!
