To STOP the proposed installation of 4 mobile phone masts and a base station with a contract of 20 years at The Holy Trinity Church,Church Lane, East Finchley, London, N2 0TH.

Local residents have fought a 5 year campaign against the proposal / Barnet council denied planning permission twice only to be overuled by a government inspector. The church then withdrew its proposal, only to resurrect it again in 2009.

The local vicar The Rev Laurence Hill has rejected the many invitations to consult or discuss the proposed installation, face to face with local residents throughout the entire 5 years. This has caused deep divisions between the local community and the church.
The general concensus of local opinion is that they are being steam-rollered by the church, whose subordinate is due shortly to retire and leave a 20 year legacy of a mast installation that will obvoiusly be continually upgraded during that period.

This in the prettiest and most open to view church spire in the area with a glorious through view and bells to be seen, where any mast cannot fail to be seen.

We are told that there are no health issues with masts but this is only based on current guidelines and offers no guarantee of future developments.
The government has a vested interest in approving these installations as they get vast revenue from granting licences to mobile phone providers and the church of course will in turn get monies to home these masts.

The benefits of this proposed revenue to the church on the local community, in opposition to the proposal has obviously not been discussed as both church and vicar do not wish to attend local resident meetings.
The East Finchley Village Residents Association... EFVRA...... efvra@btinternet.com and several local objectors, intend to attend a church court to object to this proposal and hand in this and several other petitions of objection to this proposal.

I OBJECT to the proposed installation of 4 mobile phone masts and a base station in the church spire at the Holy Trinity Church, Church Lane, East Finchley, London, N2 0TH.
