Target: City of Toronto
Region: Canada
Background (Preamble):
We are a social action group comprised of concerned citizens of the City of Toronto whose objective is to keep track of government action and its impact on our society.

There is nothing more important to Canadians than the safety of their families and communities.

By cutting police services with the reduction in crime statistics how concern should the residents of Toronto be? Please help us in the fight to STOP THE CUTS.
Petition:
This petition is opposing Mayor Ford cuts to the police services. Over the next two years Mayor Rob Ford plans to cut 10% from the Police Force budget. That will mean job layoffs. Reduced number of officers on the street, risks to public safety, slower response times we need to send Mayor Ford a message... This is not something we will stand for!

Can we afford this? Is trying to balance the budget good grounds for putting our safety at risk? By cutting police services with the reduction in crime statistics how concern should the residents of Toronto be?

This is what the situation is...Politicians like Rob Ford live in high-income, well-secured neighbourhoods that are often gated and employing private security firms, most of us do not live in these neighbourhoods. Mayor Ford is not putting himself at risk. He's putting, our families, our children and our community at risk. All for his own political motives, it is time for us to stand up and say STOP THE CUTS!

It's time for us to use our voice. Remember, there's real power in numbers. And we have the numbers.

Let's keep our city safe by telling Mayor Ford to STOP THE CUTS!
