Petition Background (Preamble):
The City of Oklahoma City has filed an application with Oklahoma City Planning Department to close a portion of NW 51st Street and I-44 ramp right of way.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing April 26th, on the Third Floor of the Municipal Building, 200 North Walker Avenue, at 1:30 pm.
The closer of NW 51st Street would have great economic impact on the surrounding businesses and would also cause greater delays of traffic entering and exiting I-44. The closer would also create of higher risk of traffic accidents.
The revenue intake of these businesses by far exceeds the cost of maintaining the streets.
