Stop Styrofoam and Over Packaging

Styrofoam
Styrofoam is bad for our Earth. The chemicals that it contains creates high pollution and contaminates water. Styrene, a chemical in styrofoam, can reduce the amount of oxygen made by trees if burned. Styrene is also poisonous. Styrofoam is one of the hardest things to recycle as it contains nitrogen oxide . This means it would take a long time for Styrofoam to disappear from our earth.

Companies started using Styrofoam because it was a light, cheap material for keeping food fresh and for shipping goods. It is also used for disposable. Looking at the amount of Styrofoam we produce and consume it would seem impossible to reduce the amount of pollution and harm to our earth, unless we start acting now.

Over Packaging
Do we really need to wrap a chicken numerous times? Well things like that happen in supermarkets in Hong Kong. Packaging things so many times is just a waste of resources. A lot of pollution gets created to produce these packages and then more gets produced once the consumer is done with the packaging. Even though some packaging can get recycled, some can’t, causing us to burn it or dump it in the landfills. So either way we still pollute our planet!

Some packaging is poisonous so if it contains food that why we eat we basically eat the chemicals it has. That’s why we ask you to join hands and forces to ‘SAVE OUR PLANET’!
