The people of Newton le Willows are becoming increasingly concerned as to the amount of Scramble bikes / motor bikes using the Sankey canal pathway as a racing track, the riders, mainly teenagers have no regard for anything or anyone who may be on the pathway.
Today a Swan has been hit and badly injured by a bike, the rider did not stop.
How much longer can this be allowed to continue before we see a fatality?
We the undersigned call upon St Helens Council to act responsibly and erect barriers down the Sankey Canal pathway to stop it being used by scramble bikes as a race track.
We ask this before the above creates serious injury or fatality.
