To: Liz Sandals, Ontario Minister of Education
Minister Sandals: children across Ontario are accessing pornography in schools.
You admit that when it comes to porn in schools, Ontario children "are seeing things their parents don't want them to see" (National Post, 18 Feb 2016), but as the public official ultimately responsible for Ontario schools, you have failed to fix the problem.
Instead you are playing politics with our children by using pornography in our schools to trumpet Kathleen Wynne’s Sex-Ed Agenda. You state that the new sex-ed curriculum “…tries to help kids know how to be safe on the internet and also to process what they’re seeing…”(National Post, 18 Feb 2016), yet the curriculum never once mentions pornography.
We, the parents, grandparents and other residents of Ontario, demand that you take action, on a province-wide basis, and immediately block the viewing of pornography in our schools.
Minister Sandals, start listening to parents, and put our children first!
