You have recently began enforcing an unwritten rule towards student Identifications and how they are to be worn (around the neck of the student secured by a lanyard). I myself, along with multiple teachers along with even more students, believe that this rule is un-nessesary and seemingly pointless.
Believe me that I do truly understand the purpose of these student Identifications as school-related violence is a serious threat in every school district and a large concern for every person within every district. However, we do feel that this un-nessesary rule of where your lanyard must be is a step to far because by you requiring us to wear these lanyards in our every attire; you are therefor requiring us to abide by a rule that interferes with our dress code.
We the students only ask one thing of you, the right to wear our Identifications anywhere visible (i.e on shirts, belt loops, shirt pockets) without un-justified persecution.
We, the undersigned, hereby call on Garry Shafferman to allow students to wear their Identification anywhere easily visible (i.e on their shirts, clipped onto shirt pockets, belt loops).
I hereby state my opinion as a student under the administration of Garry Shafferman of Marcus High School within the Lewisville Independent School District.
By signing this petition I DO NOT accept any form of punishment for using my constitutional rights.
