As Muslims We Want To Stop Hate-Filled Sermons in the Canadian Mosques

As the World moves forward post the 9/11 tragedy -- we canot regress and allow bigots on all sides, to jeopardise the lives of thousands if not millions, by using any forum to incite hate, and specially by using religion.

The Religious places of Worship cannot be allowed to preach hateful rhetoric. It is in this spirit we SPEAK-UP against 'HATEFUL' Sermons being issued to unassuming Muslims in the Canadian Mosque.

We Petition to put a Stop to Hateful Sermons, issued against the Host Population in the Canadian Mosques -- as Muslims & Naturalized Canandians we want the 'Imams' to Showcause and the disclose the Source; allowing them to spreading hate from the Pulpit.

We Declare to the Imams that they have no right to Poison our Children - We appeal to the Local Authorities to take Notice. Stop the Hate-Filled Sermons in the Mosques -- Take back the Mosques from the Ignorant.

'Change Failures, into Hopes, by transcending, social, economic and religious polarisation'

We support mosques that are marked by love and compassion, and not marked by double standards. It will all start with changing our attitudes, we have to start, by accepting that change is not defeat, nor is it succumbing, but it is a realization, for a change.

Today Organized Sects, have become a dominant force, who control, the Mosque culture. While the majority mainstream unassuming Muslims are pushed to the back.

The above is a clear example of 'unity of purpose', it can be any purpose. It takes a 'Will to create Polarisation, and it will take a stronger 'Will' to undo it.

The Educated in any community have a greater responsibility, and will always be the catalysts for change. We can't sit on the side and just watch, as the Mosque is overrun by a self appointed authority, who defy the Teachings of the Quran, and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBOH), by making the mosque a place to teach, intolerance and polarisation.

In the days of the Prophet (PBOH) the Mosque was a place to worship, a community center, a nursery of ideas, to serve as as a refuge for everyone, a place which welcomed its visitors, regardless of their sex, with harmony, tolerance, equality, and justice.

Lets us try and do our part to change the inequities in our communities. by giving the Mosque, its rightful place, by making it an all inclusive institution, as was meant to be. It will start by, defining the the role of the mosque, through design, to give it the infrastructure based on, the true Muslim aspirations.

How can you Help:

When you see or hear Bias:

1. Immediately record the biased segment or message. You can do this electronically or simply by taking a few notes. Note the basic 5W's: who, where, what, when, why and how. Write down clear details, and describe in detail what was said or shown and in what context. Make sure you have the correct names, the place, and the person(s) responsible. Exact time and dates are also important.

2. Write down your objection. For strategic reasons, use a constructive approach. A polite and moderate tone projects an image of reason, firmness and seriousness. Avoid being emotional and using words that suggest insults, threats or overreaction. You must remember that your goal is to get a public apology, prevent further bias and mobilize public support for your viewpoint. An antagonistic and negative approach often makes people more defensive and resistant to suggestions or demands for change.

3. Communicate with the person directly responsible for the stereotyping with Hate anywhere. For practical purposes, you may find it more persuasive and effective to send by registered mail a copy of your objection to the print & electronic media, the local M.P or the mayor's office. Keep a copy for your own records. Follow-up by telephone call..
