I was the victim of a fake marriage to a man from Ivory Coast seeking a British visa. During the time we were together I was stripped naked in a ball on the floor with my ex telling me he can pee on me if he wants. Sexual encounters recorded without my knowledge. Raped. Driven off the road twice trying to drive to work. Harassed at work and my supervisor abused. He apologised to me on a recording on my phone for raping me. Police had my phone for two years but nothing was heard. I drove my car past a police officer standing in the street in Edinburgh with my hand continually sounding the horn. In fear of him chasing me round Edinburgh. The officer ignored me. The second occasion my friend was also in my car. I managed to drive to the police station in Edinburgh where the police caught him.

He was detained and released and to my knowledge no charge. He tried to run down my boyfriend in a petrol station. Police did not pursue or check CCTV. No action taken. He tied me up, ripped my top down and said he would kill me. He will never let me go. Threatened black magic. Stameped on my chest while pouring water on my face so I couldn't breath. Dragged me up 2 flights of stairs by my hair. Pushed me down them also. No action taken. Kicked my front door in, when the police came, he alleged me of trying to stab him, I was detained even though my call to 999 could hear everything. I have tried to take my life 3 times in 2014 as I felt so alone and ashamed.

Now I need to speak out as myself and children escaped Edinburgh, yet I am expected to be on the streets of Edinburgh to face trial. I'm terrified of my ex and the outcome to go. And I'm terrified of the outcome if I don't. Even if public transport is cancelled due to weather, my solicitor in Edinburgh has advised I will be arrested. Mine and my children's lives have been hugely affected and my 3 year relationship has been very vulnerable.

I never felt confident I would get any response by doing a petition, but it really is my last hope. Thank you for taking the time to read what I have had to say, though I have not been able to write all the details.

We, the undersigned, call on David Cameron to protect the rights of domestic violence/abuse victims, without them becoming societies victims and victims of the law. To have protection from the police, and to have this fullfilled when promised.

We feel in this case the victim/accused has been unfairly treated and put at great risk. The mental health of this domestic violence victim has been massively affected and is continuing to worsen. This needs to stop.
