Snohomish County Jail should have doctors in the jail prescribing Suboxin, Subutex, or Methadone. If you have the means to pay out of pocket for the medication as well as for the Dr. visit, insurance is not for medications in jail it's simple. Then the accused will have a choice to be sick and possibly die from withdrawals or get some inmate-funds on their "books."
Now-a-days the lesser charged get out of jail free card produced every time the medical floor is full and as long as u have a dirty U.A. So if your only being charged with a gross-misdemeanor or misdemeanor, this is the revolving door at SNOHOMISH Co. JAIL is due to the many deaths in this facility during the past year.
Being properly equipped to handle people suffering from addiction would result in-tax dollars not being totally wasted by officers doing double or even triple the work.
Help me make a change, where it needs to happen!
We, the undersigned, call on the D.o.J. to allow inmates to be screened properly by a Doctor with a degree in chemical dependency, so that they may be properly screened/medicated.
