DDD Provider Agencies will be receiving a 10% cut to all service rates to reduce state expenses effective March 1, in order for the state to meet revenue reductions prior to July 1.

Here are some facts about group homes, after school, and home based programs:

*The state does not pay for any of the start-up costs of offices, programs nor group homes.

*State contract rates do not allow for any profit margin. A recent survey of providers done by the state, found that the actual costs of program delivery are 13-15% higher than the current rate paid to providers by DES.

*The Department of Economic Security has an entry level wage of $10.30 for the same direct care they provide, whereas most provider agencies are only able to pay $8.50.

*With these cuts, many agencies will go out of business unless Legislators help by recognizing that most providers, cannot guarantee to continue services under these circumstances.

We, the undersigned, call on DES/DDD to eliminate the 10% rate cut, because of its drastic effect on people with developmental disabilites in the state of Arizona.
