The petition has helped to achieve Double yellow lines for 15 meters at the two dropped curbs outside the main entrance to the school. This should be done within 6 months enabling a clear and unobstructed view to parents crossing the road at these locations and enforcement against those parents who disregard the no waiting restrictions.

Parking has always been an issue outside primary schools. Northwick Park is situated in Third Avenue, Canvey Island. The road is a single carriageway one lane in either direction and is a class B road.
During school start and finish times vehicles are parked on one side of the road making it in effect a one lane carriageway. This makes it impossible for parents and young children to have a good clear and unobstructed view of the road. Near misses of young children crossing this road are numerous and at least one child has been knocked down by a passing vehicle.
Parents who park dangerously and inconsiderately make those that walk to school run a gauntlet whilst trying to safely cross this road by the school entrance.
We, the undersigned, call on local government to introduce double yellow lines on the east side of Third Avenue between Link Road and Fifth Avenue.
We want to stop dangerous parking outside Northwick Park Primary School.
