Stop Dangerous ID

Dangerous ID is an anti-gun citizen control scheme that will not stop terrorism or solve our immigration problems.

It is an unfunded federal mandate that will cost taxpaying Virginians a fortune while punishing law-abiding gun owners. It increases the likelihood of identity theft by storing personal and private data such as the SS numbers, financial and medical information, and buying habits of gun owners on embedded Spy Chips that savvy computer con artists can read with the same wireless technology currently used at pass-through toll booths.

Therefore, I expect you to stand up to the intimidation of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who threatens to stop Virginians without a National ID Card from boarding airplanes. I expect you to tell Speaker William Howell to keep funding for Dangerous ID out of the budget or vote against it. I don’t want any money spent on the implementation of Dangerous ID, the so-called Real ID Act of 2005.

I don’t want Barack Obama nationalizing my Virginia Driver’s License. I also expect you to work to make sure Delegate Bob Marshall’s Stop Dangerous ID bill, H.B. 1587, has a clean vote on the floor of the House of Delegates. Virginia MUST join the eleven states that have already passed OPT OUT legislation that forbids their state from implementing Dangerous ID.

I have taken the PATRIOT’S PLEDGE. I promise NOT to vote for any politician who votes for any budget with any money in it to implement DANGEROUS ID the next time they run for any office.
