Amazon's Kindle Store for years has been peddling pornographic photo-only eBooks accessible to anyone, without age verification. Thousands of such eBooks are on Kindle's Unlimited program and are available for free.
Reading the 'Reviews' posted for these eBooks strongly indicates that they are written and viewed by minors.
Such pornographic content could be psychologically very detrimental to our children, and they definitely do not belong in our school's system.
Worse yet, after repeated warnings Amazon has refused to take down the offending eBooks.

We are extremely appalled by the proliferation of hard-core pornographic photo-only eBooks presently on sale at the Kindle Store and which are easily accessible by anyone, including minors.
Images of explicit sexual nudity and sexual acts are depicted on the book's product page cover images and content pages, and even though there is a warning as "Adult content" it only takes a click to access them. In fact this benign warning only encourages minors for its access.
Worse yet, Amazon's teams at title-submission@amazon.com and at ec-kdp@amazon.com have persistently ignored repeated detailed reports on the particular eBooks.
In contrast, Apple's iBooks store, Lulu, Kobo and Play Google have effective systems in blocking such offending eBooks. There is no reason for Amazon not to use the same technology. We wonder on Amazon's marketing strategy and intentions.
