A planning application has been made to South Derbyshire District Council to start up a chicken breeding business in Mount Road, Castle Gresley and to put a temporary mobile home on this site - Land reference number SK2717 7582.

The proposal is to access the property over a 3 ton weight limit bridge or along the bridle path known as The Scotts. By its nature this bridle path should not be used by vehicles except for the purpose of accessing property along its length. The land in the proposal is not situated on the bridle path.

As the applicants intend to sell animals and produce from this site they will be a massive increase in traffic along this bridle path.

This path is used by dog walkers, parents taking children to school and by people enjoying the countryside.

People's lives are in danger from speeding cars as they walk along this track with their dogs, parents taking children to school and the general public enjoying a walk in the countryside.

We, the undersigned, call on South Derbyshire District Council to take action to stop vehicles using the bridle way on The Scotts, Castle Gresley to take a short cut between Castle Gresley and Linton and to erect signage prohibiting vehicles driving along it to access property that does not front on to the bridle way.

We also ask that if people persist in breaking the law by using this bridle path that they be prosecuted.
