Stone Ridge Homeowners Snow Plow Grievance

The town homes off of Destiny and Mineral Springs had not been plowed at all while ALL of the other streets in Stone Ridge had been plowed at least once or with a one lane accessible path. After patiently waiting over 40 hours since the last snow fall, two homeowners dug themselves out (including 25 yards of snow on the street) to get to Destiny. Once they were out they discovered that ALL of the streets in Stone Ridge had been plowed.

A visit was made to the Stone Ridge HOA office where an HOA associate and the snow removal foreman stated that they have plowed every street at least once. That is is not the case with these streets. The foreman also stated that he drove by those streets just that morning and the plows could not get in two of the streets because of two disabled vehicles. What about the other streets? Moreland Mine, Magnetite and several others were not blocked and had not been plowed at all. There were more than 25 inches of snow on the streets.

The foreman said that there is too much snow now to remove with a plow and heavier equipment (front loader) is needed to remove it. If a plow had been on the streets once or twice throughout the storm and after like they did on ALL of the other streets in Stone Ridge then front loaders would not be necessary. We all pay our HOA fees and the money we spent has been ill managed by the HOA. Furthermore, our area has been abandoned altogether and we have unnecessarily been placed at risk for lack of access for emergency responders specifically for the elderly, the sick, and those with small children.

The rest of the neighborhood had access to the streets and was able to get to work on Monday if they needed to but those living in the town homes abandoned by the HOA were not able to leave the end of their driveway. By mid-afternoon on Monday, January 25, 2016 it still remains untouched.
