This morning another family pet was run over on Therry Street. This was not the first time, nor will it be the last.
Statistically there is every chance that next time it will be a child; there are two primary schools just up the street.
There are constant near misses from speeding four wheel drives, utilities and other cars, especially during peak hour and when locals are parking.
Therry Street was built in an earlier time for local traffic. There is virtually no off-street parking and it is barely four metres wide with parked cars along the eastern side. You cannot see children or animals clearly. It is a disaster waiting to happen.
We, the undersigned, of Therry Street, Drummoyne, between Thompson and Tranmere Streets, request Canada Bay Council take immediate action to:
• Place speed humps along the street in order to reduce the speed of cars.
• Make Therry Street, and other narrow streets, into one-way streets for the safety of local population.
