Description/History:
In early 2008 Channel Ten Australia began a second service known as Ten HD.
In order to promote this service, Ten moved several shows to the new service for "exclusive" viewing. These shows are listed below:
- The Shield
- Veronica Mars
- Smallville
- Battlestar Galactica
- Journeyman
- The 4400
Unfortunately, Channel Ten's affiliate regional station, Southern Cross, was not able to set up its multi-casting HD systems in time and so regional viewers of these shows are unable to see them in any legal format.
While these shows are not high-rating in Australia, they have a very loyal fan base and many regional viewers are feeling discriminated against by being forced to miss these shows.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, while recognising the problems faced by Southern Cross Broadcasting with regards to HD television, DO NOT accept that we are any less important viewers than our metropolitan friends.
We therefore call upon Southern Cross Broadcasting to:
1) Provide HD television to regional viewers at the earliest possible opportunity and to make this the number one priority of the organisation, and
2) AS SOON AS HD broadcasting is available in regional areas to repeat EVERY episode of the following shows that regional viewers have missed as a result of Channel Ten's decision to move them to Ten HD: "The Shield", "Veronica Mars", "Smallville", "Battlestar Galactica", "Journeyman" and "The 4400".
We thank Southern Cross Broadcasting for their time in reading our concerns and this petition.
