The drain in the retention pond in the gazebo area has been solidly plugged with mud and debris. All last summer and this past winter, the pond has retained more or less water, never drying out. All last summer, aid conditions prevented the grass from being able to be cut. All winter the pond was filled and frozen.

It is now spring and we face another summer of an unsightly, hazard condition in that retention pond. The constant presence of water and dampness is a breeding ground for mosquitoes, the water fowl attracted to the stagnent water, deficate in that pond making it on ongoig health hazard. (To support this petition, we attach photos taken on April 22, 2007.)

We, certain residents of Riverside Townes, call upon the Riverside Townes Homeowners Association, through its elected board members and its salaried property manager, Dave Highland, to address the stagnent condition of the gazebo retention pond, without further delay.

We further call upon said individuals to research a solution to and implement a plan which will permanently eliminate the stagnent condition, whether that solution consists of engaging the services of the Joliet Fire Department and its high-powered hoses, or results in the installation of a drainage pipe of a larger diameter.

Further we request that said retention pond be re-planted with a type of grass which grows in water.
