Snakey Lane (public path 102/49), is a quiet country lane (private-owned) which is currently classified by Pembrokeshire County Council as a RUPP or 'Road used as a Public Path'. The council are proposing to re-classify this private road as a BOAT or 'Byway Open to All Traffic'.

The lane is currently enjoyed by local residents and visitors alike as a peaceful, tranquil walking/riding route. The lane also borders a conservation area and site of special scientific interest (SSSI).

Giving public motor vehicle access would not only compromise the conservation area, it would also compromise the safety of the children who for many years have played nearby.

We are of the opinion that in the interest of riders, walkers and during the summer season, campers and caravan park residents, this public rights of way should be designated for these activities only owing to the nature of the terrain, which makes the use of automotive vehicles undesirable in the interest of the safety and deterioration of the route for the other users.

We, the undersigned, petition the Planning Inspectorate and Pembrokeshire County Council to retain the private lane (public path 102/49) as a public footpath/bridleway.
