Smarter Hospitals for Queensland Kids

This petition was published by Dr Kate sinclair on Jul 17, 2008

We the undersigned wish to retain the existing two tertiary childrens hospitals as networked campuses to deliver world class childrens hospital services dedicated to the care of children across Queensland and Northern NSW.

We oppose the closure of the Royal Childrens Hospital which has the only established research facilities in Brisbane on campus to promote the advancement of therapies and cures for childrens diseases.

We recognise the excellence of both Mater and Royal Childrens Hopsitals and wish to enjoy the excellence that both hospitals offers through their complimentary strengths.

We seek retention of access to emergency services for Northern and Southern areas. We recognise the need for future growth and expansion. This model of two networked sister hospitals is designed to be a financially responsible solution avoiding redundancy and duplication of services.
