The defense attorney was given a bond reduction by a judge with no familiarity of the case. We feel as if we are reliving her death all over again. Sign this petition to ensure that justice is done.
On the 30th of April of 2007, our life was completely torn apart after our beloved Shinette was run down like an animal and shot to death in front of her four year old son.
The individual accused of this heinous and cowardly act was detained, but has now been released on bond.
You can only begin to know the pain we are experiencing. Imagine the horror her son is going through. He faces everyday with fear of what happened to his mother will happen to him. No one deserves that especially not a five year old, he has already been robbed of the right of his mother in his life.
After months of motion after motion, hearings after hearings, this is what it comes to: a judge that lacks the necessary knowledge of this case reduces the bond for an individual accused of causing a lifetime of pain to a community.
We have decided to express these thoughts publicly in hopes that justice will not be undermined. Shinette Reshel McDaniel's case deserves a fair trial and we want the accused individual's bond revoked and justice served, if not for us, for the children involved.
