On September 11, 2001 two terrorist planes struck the World Trade Center along with one other terrorist plane that struck the pentagon. The World Trade Center collapsed, with people still inside.

In total, 2973 people were confirmed dead, and 24 remain missing as a result of the terrorist attack. Those people were ordinary people, citizens of the United States. Those people had family all around our country and even the world.

Because of the terrorist attack on 9/11, The United States remains in a war in Iraq, where al-Qaeda and the other terrorists came from. It has been almost five years, and the war goes on. An official count of 19,890 Americans have died in combat, but it has been estmated as 20,000 - 48,100.

We, the undersigned, ask that the day of September 11, be a day in which students are to not attend school for the day to honor and remember the fallen of the 9/11 attack and the War on Terrorism.
