Many of us have had bad experiences while on holiday where we were taken on endless guided shopping outlets and seemingly inappropriate tourist spots, only to realise that most of these places were part of pre-arranged scams by the people who will get kickbacks. This is also happening in Penang!
This practice is hurting Malaysia’s reputation and will affect the future of our tourism industry.
Unfortunately, ESCAPE has been and continues to be approached by unethical people with their demands for kickbacks. They have even threatened to boycott us if we don’t do business this way. But we stand firm on our ethical foundations.
Giving under table money is a corrupt practice and is simply wrong. ESCAPE is and will remain a Scam-Free Tourist Destination.
Say NO to corruption, say NO to tourist scams.
