A new era is dawning in Australia with the introduction of the Centrelink Basics Card.

This card will strip people of their basic right of where they will be able to shop and spend their money.

A new era is dawning in Australia with the introduction of the Centrelink Basics Card. This card will strip people of their basic right of where they will be able to shop and spend their money.

This is a dangerous scheme that the Government is implementing as it effects the already financially crippled communities. Much like many of the tactics employed by communist regimes in the past, the Centrelink Basics Card will limit where people are able to spend their money.

The people most likely to be affected by the Basics Card, are those who are already suffering. People with alcohol and drug abuse issues, and those with mental health issues are likely to be the most effected. Along with pensioners and low income families.

A possible result of the implementation of the Basics Card could be a dramatic rise in petty crime, for example; shoplifting, armed robberies and home invasions.

The Centrelink Basics Card won't be accepted at small businesses, and some of the less popular, but far cheaper, supermarkets. In effect, we are being told where we can shop, and what we can spend our money on. This is not only a negative thing for the cardholders, but also for the businesses that they have been supporting previously.

It is time to stand up and say no to the government and its blatant disregard for the health and well being of the financially stricken Australians. We have a right to shop where we want and to spend our money as we see fit.
