PETITION TO OPPOSE CHANGES TO THE CONTROLLED HOURS OF OPERATION OF C P Z IN HW ZONE LONDON NW10.

At the end of 2008, Brent Council carried out a Consultation about the C P Z in HW ZONE, LONDON NW10.

The results of the Consultation showed that most people WHO RETURNED THE SURVEY said that they wanted the CPZ hours changed to Monday to Friday ONLY. On that basis the Council commenced the process to carry out the changes, and this process is now in ADVANCED STAGES.

Although the statistics collected from the Survey may have shown that many people wanted the days of operation changed to Monday to Friday only, there are MANY RESIDENTS who live close to the TOWN CENTRE who are strongly opposed to the changes, as the removal of PARKING RESTRICTIONS will have a very severe impact in their roads.

With NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS in force on SATURDAYS, parking will be a FREE-FOR-ALL and people who want to go shopping in Harlesden Town Centre, go into London from Willesden Junction Station or go to Roundwood Park, will be able to park their cars all day for free. This will mean that local RESIDENTS will find it extremely difficult to be able to find a PARKING SPACE anywhere in their road or close to their home.

The ROADS that will be most affected by the removal of the restrictions on SATURDAYS are RUCKLIDGE AVENUE, HARLESDEN GARDENS, SELLONS AVENUE, SPRINGWELL AVE, LEGHORN ROAD AND PALERMO RD.

It is also very important to highlight that PARK PARADE and WROTTESLY Road will also be severely affected in fact if people can park freely in PARK PARADE on SATURDAY it will cause CHAOS, and traffic will be blocked in both directions.

As stated above the Process to implement the changes to MONDAY to FRIDAY only are in an advanced stage now. We therefore URGENTLY NEED to send a very clear message to BRENT COUNCIL that this major change in the controlled is against our wishes, and will cause us severe problems.

PLEASE therefore sign this PETITION to SAY NO TO THE CHANGES IN CPZ IN HW ZONE.

We need to retain the current hours of operation of MONDAY to SATURDAY, especially in the roads closest to the TOWN CENTRE as noted above.
This PETITION has been launched by Rucklidge Avenue Residents’ Association. You can get more information on the current situation on our website which can be found at www.rucklidgeavenue.co.uk

There will be a PUBLIC MEETING at 7p.m on 18th March at St. Marks Hall, All Souls Avenue NW10 to discuss this issue. The meeting has been arranged by Councillor Bertha Joseph. Officers from Brent Council’s Transportation Services will be there to provide information about the proposed changes.

We need a HUGE RESPONSE to this PETITION if we are to have ANY CHANCE of stopping the changes being implemented. PLEASE tell your friends and neighbours to sign too. We want to collect at least 500 names.

There is also a paper based PETITION.

PLEASE sign only ONE of the PETITIONS, either the ONLINE PETITION or the PAPER BASED PETITION. To sign you must be on the Brent Electoral Role and be over 18 years of age. You do not have to be a CAR OWNER.

Many thanks for your interest in this important issue, Ian Britton. Rucklidge Ave Residents Association.

WE THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENTS OF BRENT LONDON ARE STRONGLY OPPOSED TO THE PROPOSED CHANGES IN CPZ HOURS IN HW ZONE.

WE URGE BRENT COUNCIL TO RECONSIDER THIS AND RETAIN THE EXISTING HOURS OF MONDAY TO SATURDAY.
